Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa’s relationship didn’t make it long after the finale of The Bachelor. The couple wrapped their season on March 24. Despite leaving the season engaged, the couple split just three months later. Since the June 2025 announcement, fans have been questioning exactly what went wrong. Those who want to know badly enough should find someone other than Grant to ask. The lead of Season 29 of The Bachelor has admitted that he doesn’t really know why his relationship ended. He did throw a little bit of shade at Juliana, though. She’s throwing it right back.

Grant Ellis says she doesn’t know why he and Juliana Pasquarosa broke up

Juliana Pasquarosa and Grant Ellis’ split seemed pretty amicable. The end of the relationship came just as the summer was setting in, and that’s the last we heard of it. Their split, much like Grant’s season of The Bachelor, was boring. Things are getting a little fiesty now, though. This week, Grant took to Instagram to answer some The Bachelor questions and, in doing so, he threw a little bit of shade at his former fiancée.

One fan asked the reality TV star why he and Juliana had split. He said he “didn’t really know” and elluded to the idea that she hadn’t really tried to make it work after the show ended. His wording seemed to suggest that Juliana was the one who ended the relationship. His wording also suggested it happened suddenly and that he didn’t get much closure. While Bachelor Nation initially felt sympathetic, Juliana’s take on the situation might change that.

Juliana claps back

Since the split, Juliana Pasquarosa has been keeping things pretty neutral on Instagram. She has shared uploads with friends, posted sponsored content, and even showcased her work. She hasn’t really mentioned Grant, and if she has, it’s been neutral. He basically forced her hand now.

Shortly after Grant’s comments went viral, Juliana took to Instagram to issue her own statement. It is apparent that she is pissed. In an Instagram story, she revealed that she had tried very much to make things work, even when she felt unloved. She went on to say that she and Grant have spoken, and that her family and friends have been receptive to him since their split.

The Massachusetts native signed off by informing her followers that Grant is fully aware of the reason they split; she says he just doesn’t want the public to know it. Now, everyone in Bachelor Nation has their eyes fixed on Juliana’s social media. We are all hoping she spills the tea.

Why did Grant pick Juliana?

While Grant doesn’t know what went wrong, some fans suspect that the way the series was edited and his indecisiveness in the moments before proposing might have played a significant role in the end of the relationship. Grant was more conflicted than most leads in the lead-up to the finale moments of the show. In fact, Jesse Palmer revealed he had to move the day trader along with his decision.

In the end, Grant insisted that he picked Juliana Pasquarosa over Litia Garr because she was fun, easy-going, and her life aligned well with his own. Viewers were suspicious from the start, noting Grant had poured a lot of time into Litia, only to pull back when he learned of her religious affiliation and her quick timeline for marriage and children. While he wasn’t wrong for feeling blindsided, fans suspect he probably would have played the game differently, ending up with different women in the end, if he had been informed of Litia’s timeline and faith sooner. In the end,it just didn’t feel like Juliana was the woman he was head over heels for, and it seems likely that Juliana felt that, too.
