With so much talk about Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, some may have forgotten or not have even known that Green Day is performing at the big game.

Before the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy, the trio of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool will perform a special opening ceremony to kick off Super Bowl LX.

The game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and Armstrong, who was born in Oakland and grew up in Rodeo, California, talked about how excited he and his bandmates are to be performing so close to home, calling it “an incredible honor.”

Green Day has been rocking stages and selling out shows for more than three decades. They burst onto the Bay Area punk scene in 1987 under the name Sweet Children, but in 1989 changed to Green Day before releasing their debut album 39/Smooth in 1990. Four years later, they achieved huge mainstream success with their breakthrough album and major-label debut Dookie.

The band has had several hits, winning five Grammys and earning 20 nominations throughout their career. Now, as Green Day takes the stage at the Super Bowl, here are a few things you may not have known about the legendary group, including how old they are and who has the highest net worth.
