Harvey Weinstein and Diddy Have a Sexual Assault Accuser in Common

A model has accused both Harvey Weinstein and Diddy of assault
Over 80 women have publicly accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, assault, or rape. Over 30 of them filed civil lawsuits against him. Diddy has also faced various civil lawsuits. At least 79 civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, rape, sex trafficking, and coercion have been filed against the disgraced music mogul. One woman has accused both Diddy and Weinstein of separate attacks.
According to Vanity Fair, model Crystal McKinney has accused both Weinstein and Diddy of assault. According to the publication, McKinney alleges both incidents happened in 2003. She claims Diddy lured her to a recording studio with a promise to discuss her career, only to assault her. She also claims that Weinstein, in a separate incident, invited her and a friend up to his hotel room to discuss their careers. Once inside, she claims he got them drunk, then raped them. McKinney filed her complaint against Diddy in May 2024. She filed her complaint against Weinstein in February 2025.
What are the allegations against them, and what sentence might they be facing?
Diddy’s trial is the first time he’s standing in front of a jury, accused of sexual assault and various other crimes. Weinstein is a bit of a seasoned pro by now. The former movie producer’s current court battle is actually a retrial.
Weinstein’s retrial began in April 2025 after his 2020 conviction was overturned due to procedural errors. He faces new charges of rape and forced oral sex involving different victims. Initially, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault. In late 2022, he was also convicted of rape in California. A California judge sentenced him to serve 16 years behind bars for those crimes. Weinstein will begin serving that sentence when his stint in the New York prison system is complete.
Diddy, arrested in September 2024 on federal charges, could spend the rest of his life in a federal prison. The charges against him include sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has amassed an impressive legal team.
