In late December, he was accused of assault following an alleged incident earlier in the month with his personal chef, who claims Stefon entered her room, slapped her, and attempted to choke her over a payment dispute. He is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault. His arraignment is set for Jan. 23.
Also in late December, his brother, Trevon Diggs, was released by the Dallas Cowboys. There was speculation that was due to the fact that the cornerback asked to stay in Maryland after a game on Christmas Day against the Washington Commanders to visit with some family instead of flying right back to Dallas. His coach, Brian Schottenheimer, declined that request but Trevon stayed anyway and did not fly home with the team.
“That was not the only factor [in his release],” Schottenheimer told ESPN. “I’m not the Grinch that stole Christmas. I love Christmas. I love my family. But at the end of the day, we have a protocol that we go through, and the process was not followed.”
