A secluded Santa Fe house with sprawling views was a place of joy for actor Gene Hackman and his longtime wife, Betsy Arakawa. The home is where they spent most of their years together and, presumably, the place Hackman felt most comfortable. Now, a year after they both died inside the house, it has hit the real estate market. It’s sad history hasn’t impacted its price tag, it seems.

Gene Hackman’s estate is ready ot part with the home where the beloved actor and his wife were found dead. According to The Wall Street Journal, the property was listed on January 16 for $6.25 million. The home, designed by architect Ed Boniface and built by Doug McDowell, sits on 53 acres in a gated community and includes various outbuildings and amenities.

There is 13,000 square feet of living space, with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms spread across the interior. The home offers an indoor-outdoor feel, with large windows, expansive patios, and various spots to take in the scenery. Outside, there is a putting green, a large pool, and a private hot tub. The home is one of the priciest on the market in Santa Fe at the moment, but it is not the most expensive property currently looking for a new owner.
