Hoda Kotb made a bold decision more than a year ago. She packed up her family, left Today behind, and moved from Manhattan to the New York City suburbs. Now settled in the affluent enclave of Bronxville, New York. Kotb and her daughters seem to be enjoying more quality time together than ever before. She recently shared photos of the family of three enjoying a snow day in the ritzy suburb. Kotb previously revealed why she left Manhattan and what life in Bronxville has given her and her children.

Hoda Kotb left ‘Today’ and Manhattan for a slower pace in Bronxville

Hoda Kotb and her kids have been Westchester residents for some time now, trading in their Metrocards for the quiet streets of Bronxville in 2024. The former Today co-host didn’t opt to move into a secluded estate tucked into the backroads of the picturesque bedroom community. Kotb closed on a 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, five-bathroom center-hall Colonial close to the village center in April 2024. She is within walking distance of her children’s school and much of what the small town has to offer, including small businesses, upscale eateries, and a train station that moves residents into midtown Manhattan in just 30 minutes.

For the convenience and lifestyle, Kotb paid a pretty penny. According to Realtor, she purchased the property for $2.8 million. Before the Kotb family moved in, builders had spruced up the kitchen and renovated the backyard to appeal to upscale buyers. Kotb made quick work of the outdoor space, a feature nearly impossible to find in Manhattan. She also embraced the slower pace of life and the chance to slow down and stay up later.

Why did Hoda Kotb move to Westchester?

According to the New York Post, Kotb revealed her plans to move to the small village and the reason behind the plan before making the move. Kotb revealed that she hoped for a fresh start, where she could teach her children independence. She went on to say that finding Bronxville, which had everything she wanted, was a bit of a dream come true. Her children, who are still young, will be able to grow up with a slower pace and a lot more freedom.

Bronxville is just 30 minutes from Grand Central Terminal. Still, it is a town where young residents can move around safely and freely. The streets, dotted with shops and eateries, are often filled with students from the local middle and high schools, as well as from nearby Sarah Lawrence College. Groups of kids roam the town, ducking into Starbucks and spending time at the local diner and movie theater. For Kotb, it also offers a community of professional mothers who understand exactly what she went hunting for. So far, the town seems to be a good fit for Kotb.
