Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had the biggest news of the year when they announced their engagement.

The pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared their happy news on Aug. 26, with a carousel of photos that included the two embracing as well as close-ups of Swift’s ring. The “Karma” artist and athlete captioned it, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” with a dynamite emoji.

The post quickly racked up more than 35,000 likes, and congrats poured in from fans and other celebrities around the world. Even the royals chimed in.

And now, an insider is sharing that it’s believed Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) will score an invite to what’s likely going to be the wedding of the century.

Insider thinks there’s a good chance the Waleses will score an invite to the wedding

For those who don’t know, T-Swift and the Prince of Wales go back several years. They made headlines in 2013 when they took the stage with Jon Bon Jovi for a rendition of the 1986 hit “Livin’ on a Prayer” at the Centrepoint Gala Dinner, a charity event for homelessness.

Their friendship was in the news again in 2024 when William brought his two oldest kids to see Swift’s Eras Tour in London. The singer shared a snap of them backstage together.

Regarding William and Kate getting an invite to Swift and Travis’ wedding, an insider told Fox News: “Taylor Swift is one very canny operator, developing her fan base, working incredibly hard writing some of the most popular pop tunes of the last decade, and cementing a good friendship with the future king Prince William over 10 years ago — a relationship that has culminated in private letters, inspirational cards, and good wishes to Princess Catherine during her difficult year.

“Now, Taylor is planning the wedding of all weddings, but this is what makes her unique. She wants to use the wedding not just to say as a celebration of love, but also to thank people who have made the journey to this point along the way, and that will include all manner of people from all manner of backgrounds.”

Swift and Travis recall how Jason Kelce was freaking out when he met the royals

Travis later talked about what it was like meeting the future king and his kids during an episode of his New Heights podcast.

“Dude, [Prince William] was the coolest motherf*****. He was awesome,” Travis said. “He was so cool. I didn’t realize this until obviously we were backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet.”

Travis’s brother, Jason Kelce, also met the family. Swift and Travis relayed a story about how Jason was nearly panicking just before seeing Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte.

“He was like, ‘What do I do with my beer?’” Travis recalled, as he laughed, remembering the moment

Swift jumped in and made a gesture mimicking Jason with a beer in his hand, saying: “I watched him have this moment with his beer where he was like, ‘But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it.’ I watched this happen, and it kind of was the most amazing [thing].”

“I like that you picked up on it because that was exactly what was going through my head,” Jason told her.

The “Anti-Hero” artist then quipped, “Like if I don’t have my beer, what do I do with my hand now?”

“Is it disrespectful to have a beer when you meet royalty?” Jason asked.

“Yeah,” Swift responded. “’Or is it authentic by having the beer? I would normally have the beer, wouldn’t they want me to be myself?’ I’m watching you say that in your head. It was fantastic.”
