Is Jenelle Evans at the Center of David Eason and Kenleigh Heatwole’s Relationship Woes?
Kenleigh Heatwole is busy on social media. She has been giving followers the play-by-play on the end of her 18-month romance with David Eason. Teen Mom 2 fans aren’t surprised that the relationship has soured; they predicted its demise around the time Eason showed up with a tattoo of his then-girlfriend’s name prominently displayed on his neck. What followers did not anticipate was Jenelle Evans’ possible involvement in what went awry. She appears to have hinted that Eason was seeking her out before splitting from Heatwole. While she is known for telling tall tales, she did seem to have insider information this time around. So, is Jenelle Evans to blame for David Eason’s freshly broken home? It wouldn’t be the first time this year she appeared to be directly involved in the end of one of her exes’ relationships.

David Eason’s post-divorce life is not turning out the way he expected. The troubled father of three finalized his divorce from Teen Mom 2 star, Jenelle Evans, in August 2025. By the time early September rolled around, he was out of a home and a relationship. Kenleigh Heatwole, Eason’s latest love interest, kicked him to the curb on September 4.
The split came suddenly. On September 1, Heatwole was on Instagram and TikTok making fun of Jenelle Evans. She was assisting Eason with some projects on the parcel of land he was awarded in the split. On September 2 and September 3, it was business as usual for the 26-year-old. The first sign of trouble came on September 4, via X (formerly Twitter). Things escalated quickly, it seems.

We don’t know the exact time David Eason and Kenleigh Heatwole decided it was best to part ways. We do know it happened quickly. Heatwole was trading barbs and defending Eason online just hours before the split. It seems safe to assume one very significant event must have triggered the breakup. There is reason to believe that the triggering event might have been Jenelle Evans.
While Evans and Eason made it clear in the past that they weren’t feeling anything particularly romantic towards each other recently, Evans took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that an ex was seeking her out. The tweet was posted at 12:10 am on September 4. The first indication that something was amiss between Eason and Heatwole was a tweet that Heatwole posted at 9:42 am on September 4.
We aren’t sure what transpired between Eason and Heatwole. However, it seems the troubled North Carolina native must have reached out to his ex-wife at some point. She seemed to be in the know before anyone else. Heatwole did not say Eason cheated on her; she did, however, inform her followers that Eason accused her of cheating on him. Reddit users suspect he might have been projecting.
Jenelle Evans has involved herself in another ex’s split
Even if Jenelle Evans is not the reason David Eason and Kenleigh Heatwole split, she has certainly inserted herself into their drama. The mother of three is supposed to be at home recuperating after a bout of bronchitis landed her in the hospital. She’s been tweeting all about the situation instead. Her involvement isn’t a huge shock to Teen Mom 2 fans who have been following her journey. She was just involved in another complicated breakup saga a few months ago.
Back in April, Jenelle Evans’ ex-fiancé, Nathan Griffith, was arrested for strangling his girlfriend, Anastasia Biddle. While Jnelel Evans was not named in police reports or otherwise attached to the situation, she practically ran to social media to discuss it. On TikTok, she posted a storytime about the arrest and revealed she was on the phone with her ex when police showed up at his address to take him into custody. Fans have long suspected that Griffith and Evans may have been having inappropriate conversations that led ot the fight that led ot the domestic violence incident. Following his arrest, Evans, along with Griffith’s wife (yes, the situation is complicated), verbally attacked Biddle via social media. They even showed up at her house. Griffith has rekindled his relationship with his wife, although he remains incarcerated.
