Justin Bieber is going viral again. The pop star was spotted at Dodger Stadium for the World Series on October 27. He wasn’t rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, though. Bieber, born and raised in Canada, was on hand to support the Toronto Blue Jays, and he didn’t care who knew it. He had no problem showing his dissatisfaction at a Dodgers home run early in the very long game 3. Justin was also captured wearing a Shane Bieber jersey. The shared surname has raised some questions about his potential connection to the starting pitcher. So, are the two famous Biebers related? Not at all, but they do have a long-running joke because of their shared surname.

Justin Bieber was spotted at Dodger Stadium wearing a Shane Bieber jersey. Shane Bieber’s assignment with the Blue Jays is certainly fortuitous for the Canadian popstar who remains a fan of the MLB team despite living in California. The shared surname and Bieber’s support of the pitcher have, once again, raised questions about their potential connection.

While it would be interesting for the celebrity athlete and the pop star to be related, they are not. According to several sources, despite the relatively rare surname, the Canadian Justin is not biologically related to the MLB Bieber who hales from Laguna Hills, California. At the very least, there is no recent buological connection to explain why they share the relatively uncommon family name, but that hasn’t stopped them from having some fun with it.

The two celebrities have had some fun with the connection, though

While Justin Bieber and Shane Bieber are not biologically related, they have found a way to have a bit of fun with their shared surname. In 2019, while pitching for the Cleveland Guardians (then the Cleveland Indians), Shane Bieber opted for “Not Justin” to be scrolled across the back of his jersey for players’ weekend. During the special MLB event, players can opt to have a nickname on their jersey. The joke came to life after Shane was once misidentified as Justin Bieber on an MLB trading card.
