J. Lo Refuses to Confirm or Deny That Alex Rodriguez was DMing Madison LeCroy Before Their Split
Jennifer Lopez has lived an entire life since ending her engagement to Alex Rodriguez. She’s reconnected with a former love, married and divorced him, and is now moving forward as a single mother. Regardless of the amount of time that elapses, people remain curious about why her love affair with Rodriguez ultimately didn’t work out. After all, they did seem like the perfect power couple. Lopez, however, just made it clear that she has no plans to answer questions about the ill-fated romance or anything else going on in her personal life anytime soon.
Jennifer Lopez opted not to discuss past relationships during a recent appearance
Jennifer Lopez appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week. During her interview, Cohen said fans are all clamoring to know whether or not Alex Rodriguez’s alleged flirtation with Madison LeCroy, of Southern Charm fame, factored into the end of their romance. Cohen said fans would kill him if he didn’t ask.
Shortly before the couple called it quits, Rumora began circulating that J. Lo had caught Rodriguez sliding into LeCroy’s DMs. She has never confirmed or denied the allegations, and it looks like she doesn’t plan to change that now. After Cohen posed the question, Lopez paused, thought it over, and then simply stated that she thinks she’s done answering questions about her personal life. The interview moved on quickly from there, but fans are still debating what can be implied by Lopez’s very vague answer.
Why did Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez break up?
It is official; Jennifer Lopez will no longer be fielding questions about her former loves. That doesn’t mean fans won’t continue to speculate about them, though. While Lopez is choosing not to discuss the end of her romance with Alex Rodriguez, rumors have swirled about it for years. But what have they actually said about their breakup?
While Lopez and Rodriguez first linked up in 2017, they didn’t announce their engagement until 2019. COVID canceled their wedding plans in 2020. Their decision not to reschedule immediately again had some fans questioning just how serious they were about building a life together. By 2021, rumors were swirling that there was serious trouble in their relationship. Fans were quick to pick up stories of Rodriguez sliding in LeCroy’s DMs, suggesting he was looking for an affair.
In a move that is fairly uncommon, Lopez and Rodriguez actually publicly addressed the rumors. In March 2021, they issued a joint statement denying breakup rumors, saying they were “working through some things.” A month later, though, they announced their split in a joint statement. The couple said they had come to the conclusion that they were better as friends and planned to continue supporting each other. They haven’t been photographed together in the years since.
Lopez moved on quickly, reconnecting with Ben Affleck, which further led to speculation about Madison LeCroy and Lopez’s own wandering eye. Neither has ever confirmed that infedility was part of the problem.
