According to a source who spoke to the publication, after Jace arrived in Florida, his father took him to reconnect with his friends and grandmother in North Carolina. Once back in his home state, he refused to leave.
According to the insider, Andrew returned to Florida without the teen. Jace stayed with friends at the home he once shared with his mother and also spent time with his grandmother. He has since returned to Las Vegas, but it doesn’t sound like the teen went willingly.
The anonymous source’s story matches previous reports about a speeding ticket Barbara Evans received on or around the day Jace returned to North Carolina. Barbara, Jace’s grandmother, was caught speeding close to Jenelle Evans’ former property. According to the Ashley Reality Roundup Group, she told the officer she was dealing with a family emergency. She didn’t elaborate further. Jace being unattended on the property likely would constitute an emergency.

Evans told the outlet that Jace requested to return to Las Vegas to “enjoy” the summer at home. In her interview, she also suggests the teen initially wanted to spend the summer with his father and requested to go. In the chat, she claimed Jace needed to “see for himself” what his father was like.
The former reality TV star made the move sound more dire in previous interviews. Jenelle previously suggested she had made the call to send him to Florida to protect her younger children after a harrowing 911 call about Jace. Other sources claimed the teen had no desire to head to the Sunshine State.
