Jameela Jamil Said She Knew She Was Going to ‘Eat S***’ After Blake Lively Texts Surfaced
Jameela Jamil has been pulled into the court case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. In messages sent before Lively filed her lawsuit against Baldoni, Jamil described her as a “suicide bomber.” Her remarks have sparked controversy. In a post to her Substack, Jamil addressed her comments and the backlash to them.

In recently unsealed text messages between Jamil and Baldoni’s publicist, Jennifer Abel, the two discuss Lively.
“I want to officially incorporate nightmare c*** and demon c*** into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE; She’s doing this to herself,’” Abel wrote, per Us Weekly.
Jamil responded, “She’s a suicide bomber at this point.” She also said Lively was putting on a “bizarre villain” act.
Jamil, who is an activist and vocal feminist, has faced backlash for the messages.
Jameela Jamil responded to the controversy over her messages about Blake Lively
Jamil has since responded to what she described as the “epic fallout” to her messages.
“In short, I slagged off an actor in private, over their diabolical press tour in August 2024, and then the phone of the person I was texting got taken, and its contents were handed over to a third party, which unfortunately, but classically, resulted in my texts being seen by the exact person I was slagging off…(lol)!” she wrote on her Substack. “Four months later, that person filed a lawsuit (not as lol), that involved the person I had been texting (because of course)… and for some reason, a year later, my texts were released, in spite of having little to no relevance to the case, with my name unredacted, to the entire world.”
She said that she knew the remarks would be controversial the moment they became public.
“When my private texts hit the tabloids, and then social media, I braced for cover, knowing full well I was about to eat s***,” she wrote. “And I absolutely did. 24 hours of death threats, lots of accusations of not being a real feminist, lots of encouragement for me to kill myself. It was heavy.”
Jamil posted a video noting that she texted about Lively and Baldoni before the lawsuit. She said the strong reaction calmed down afterward.
Messages between the ‘Gossip Girl’ actor and other celebrities have come to light
Jamil is far from the only celebrity to be pulled into the legal drama between Lively and Baldoni. Emails to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon surfaced, as well as text conversations between Lively and Taylor Swift. While some of the messages between the longtime friends were about Baldoni, others focused on their friendship.
“Hey, just checking in,” Lively wrote at the start of a message. “I have no reason to ask, but I donno, l’ve been feeling like I should… is everything OK? I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own shit for months. You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it. But I still have a feeling something may not be right.”
Swift responded that Lively’s messages to her began feeling like “a mass corporate email” and said she missed her friend.
