Jamie Lynn Spears’ Leaked Letters Claim She Based Her ‘Whole Life’ on What Was Best for Britney
Kevin Federline has certainly opted for a “scorched earth” approach to his famous ex-wife and the way their relationship unraveled. Federline’s upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, apparently isn’t just about his relationship with Spears. The former backup dancer is revealing everything he knows, including the troubling dynamics in the pop star’s family. In a series of released messages to Federline, Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, allegedly claims her entire life centered around what was best for Britney.
Kevin Federline’s memoir contains letters from Jamie Lynn Spears
Kevin Federline’s memoir isn’t out yet, but excerpts that have been released are incredibly troubling. According to People, the book contains messages that Jamie Lynn Spears sent to her ex-brother-in-law and his wife. A few of the messages reportedly praise Federline and his now-wife for the work they’ve put into raising Sean Preston and Jayden James, the two boys Federline shares with the elder Spears.
One message, however, dripped with resentment. In it, the younger Spears says that her entire life had been centered around what was best for the elder Spears, who is 10 years her senior. She went on to claim she could understand where her nephews were coming from and how they might feel while dealing with their mother. The Sweet Magnolias actor went on to say she resented her sister.
Jamie Lynn has spoken about her fractured relationship with her sister in the past
While Jamie Lynn Spears has not confirmed or denied the authenticity of the messages included in Federline’s memoir, they sound legit. It wouldn’t be the first time she has spoken about her sister, that’s for sure. Jamie Lynn has been outspoken about Britney in recent years. She has been honest about her feelings and how fractured their relationship has been. The younger Spears has also been known to publish or discuss private texts she has sent to her sister in the past, which seems to shore up Federline’s claim that the messages came from Jamie Lynn.
In 2022, the younger Spears published a memoir that walked fans through her early life. In that project, she said she was left to fend for herself while her sister received special attention. She said that her family was heavily focused on protecting their “asset” and making sure Britney was ok. She claims she had to step back and build her own life in the shadows. More recently, she appeared on Call Her Daddy and read texts she sent to her elder sister. The texts, sent while Britney was battling to be released from her conservatorship, appear to have gone unanswered. Jamie Lynn has been adamant that the conservatorship was put in place to protect her sister and two nephews.
