Season 19 of Sister Wives has had one significant underlying theme. For the entirety of the season, the former sister wives have been more honest than ever about life inside polygamy, why they left, and how Kody Brown and Robyn Brown’s relationship influenced their decisions. Janelle Brown, Kody’s second wife, is carrying that honesty into the tell-all episodes. The mother of six sat down and shared exactly why she isn’t interested in developing a friendship or even a cordial relationship with Kody and Robyn. Her reasoning is refreshingly simple. It’s one we think most people can relate to. She just doesn’t like her ex anymore.

Janelle Brown doesn’t want to be friends with Kody and Robyn Brown

Janelle Brown has absolutely no time to entertain Kody Brown or his fourth wife any longer. While Janelle initially seemed wishy-washy about her separation from her long-term partner, she’s grown more resolute in her decision in the last year. During a sit-down with Suki Krishnan for an infamous “one-on-one” special episode, Janelle got honest about why she’s not seeking friendship from Kody or Robyn at this time and why she’s unlikely ever to seek them out.

Entertainment Tonight shared an exclusive clip from the upcoming one-on-one episode that outlines her reasoning perfectly. In the clip, Krishnan pushes Janelle to reveal why she doesn’t want to be friends with Kody and Robyn. Eventually, she reveals that she doesn’t want or need them as friends because she doesn’t like them as people.

She’s not alone. Kody’s other ex-wives are also not interested in being friends with him. Christine Brown has made her disdain for Kody Brown well-known for several years. In fact, she’s been criticized for her continued need to troll him on social media. Meri Brown, who was the last of Kody’s original wives to leave him behind, has been far more measured. While she doesn’t troll the couple on social media, she has made it clear that she no longer thinks about or worries about them. She isn’t seeking them out for any reason.

Kody Brown has suggested he is interested in friendship

Janelle Brown, Meri Brown, and Christine Brown have all made it clear that they don’t wish to have a continued relationship with their shared ex and his one true love. Kody Brown, unsurprisingly, has different wants. For many months, Kody expressed an interest in reconnecting romantically with Janelle. She turned him down.

More recently, he has suggested that he wants to be friends with Meri Brown, calling her his “favorite” ex-wife. He was even emotional while helping her move from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Parowan, Utah. His sadness and tears took Meri by surprise. Still, the emotional outburst has done little to make her interested in interacting with him and his current wife on a semi-regular basis.

We don’t know what the future holds for Sister Wives as a show. Still, we think it’s safe to say that friendship is not in the cards for Kody Brown when it comes to his ex-wives.
