Jay-Z Once Said Wealth Would Be ‘Really Boring’ Without 1 Important Thing 

Jay-Z has accumulated a massive amount of wealth over the course of his lengthy career. He was the first musician to become a billionaire, and his net worth has continued to grow. Despite his level of wealth, Jay-Z said that he didn’t want to lose focus on the more important things in life. He said his money wouldn’t matter if he didn’t have people around him.

Jay-Z said wealth wouldn’t matter without people around him

Though Jay-Z is a billionaire, he said that he doesn’t spend his life in pursuit of wealth.

“That’s not the endgame,” he told The New York Times. “It’s not about who got more money and who got more houses. Yes, you know, you’ve earned it, buy what you want.”

He said he wanted to help others, noting that his money wouldn’t mean anything if there weren’t people around him.

“[D]on’t forget what’s important,” he said. “Without people, being rich would be very boring.”

Jay-Z said that money would only positively affect his life if there were other people in it.

“No one to share with, no one to have … You know what I mean?” he asked. “You’d just be a rich person, one person on the planet — just, like, well then what do you do?”

Jay-Z shares much of his life with his wife, Beyoncé, who also recently became a billionaire.
