Jen Shah wasn’t in a prison camp to have fun and make friends, but during her lengthy sentence for fraud, she did manage to develop some friendships. Shah taught a workout class while behind bars, counseled other inmates, and was pretty well-liked. Still, there was one inmate she was sure to steer clear of. Jen Shah recently sat down to talk about her time behind bars and noted that she stayed as far away from Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, as possible. According to Shah, her vibe was very cold.

Jen Shah is no fan of Ghislaine Maxwell

Jen Shah sat down with People for her first post-prison interview, and she wasn’t holding anything back. While most people might have shied away from talking about Ghislaine Maxwell. The former Bravo star is not most people, though. Shah met questions about her former prison mate with ruthless honesty.

Shah told the outlet that while they lived and worked in close proximity to each other, she steered clear of Maxwell. She noted that the disgraced socialite was cold and had “no remorse” for her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. Shah said she was dismissive whenever Epstein’s victims were on the news. Her behavior was so off-putting to Shah that she avoided interacting with her as much as possible.

Jen Shah says Elizabeth Holmes picked up on the vibes, too

Jen Shah claims that she isn’t the only one who felt Ghislaine Maxwell was completely remorseless for her crimes. During her chat with People, Shah noted that Maxwell made it clear to Elizabeth Holmes that she felt no empathy for the victims. From the sounds of it, Shah and Holmes, who grew close while in prison together, discussed Maxwell’s lack of regard multiple times.

While Shah is now living outside the prison walls, Elizabeth Holmes remains at the Bryan, Texas, prison camp with Maxwell. The disgraced Theranos founder was initially sentenced to 11 years behind bars for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud in 2022. Her original release date was set for 2034. She has since had years shaved off her sentence thanks to good behavior and completing several programs. Holmes’ release date is now set for 2031. A release as early as 2028 is even possible.

Maxwell is slated to remain behind bars until 2037. There have been no changes to her release date since she arrived at the prison camp. Shah was released from prison early in December 2025. Initially slated to serve 6.5 years for fraud, Shah was released after serving just 33 months.
