Jennifer Lopez Is Changing Her Standards for Love Following Ben Affleck Divorce: ‘She Comes With a Lot of Baggage’
In 2024, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck devastated fans and lovers of romance with news of their divorce. The couple got back together after nearly two decades apart, but only stayed married for two years. Affleck was Lopez’s fourth husband. While she reportedly has not given up on love, an insider says her approach to it will be different following her divorce.

After finalizing her divorce from Affleck in early 2025, Lopez is looking forward to finding new love. She has also, sources say, looked inward and considered “her part in why her past relationships have failed.” They went on to say that Lopez hopes to find lasting love, and has begun to adjust her expectations to find it.
“Of course, she’s working on her expectations too,” the insider told InTouch Weekly. “She requires a lot out of a romantic partner, that won’t change, but she knows that her expectations can be overwhelming. She understands that she comes with a lot of baggage, which is why she’s looking for a guy who will be open to discuss his insecurities and hers.”
As of right now, though, Lopez is happy staying single. She said her divorce has taught her that romantic relationships don’t define her.
