Ojani Noa and Jennifer Lopez had a whirlwind romance, a quick trot down the aisle and a blisteringly fast divorce, too. Now, he’s speaking out about what he knows of what came next. In a chat with The Sun, Noa alleges that Jennifer Lopez’s connection to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs not only ended their marriage, but left her fearing for her life.
Noa said Lopez and Diddy’s romance was so volatile that they often had deeply unsettling arguments. Things could become so heated, Noa claims, that Diddy often threatened the singer and her family. He claims Lopez was in fear for her life during the darkest moments of the short-lived romance. The personal trainer told the outlet that he even confronted Diddy more than once after Lopez called him afraid.
There was serious relationship overlap, claims Ojani Noa
Lopez and Noa, a personal trainer and restaurant manager, married in February 1997 after meeting a year earlier. Their marriage was short-lived, ending in divorce in January 1998, less than a year after the wedding. According to Noa, the split was driven by Lopez’s growing closeness with Diddy. Noa does not mince words, claiming Diddy slept with his wife and interfered with attempted reconciliations.
Lopez and Diddy met in 1997 when he had been brought on to produce several tracks for her debut album. Lopez’s relationship with Combs became public around 1999, though according to Noa it began much earlier. The pair quickly became one of the era’s most photographed couples.
Things turned grim the year they went public after a nightclub shooting found them in legal trouble. The relationship continued, on and off, until 2001. Since the infamous and very public split, Lopez has avoided all chatter about Diddy.
Lopez has not commented on Noa’s allegations. Diddy, who is currently serving time in FCI Fort Dix, has not released a statement either, though rumor has it that he is currently being detained in solitary confinement.
