O’Connell just shared that he and his wife’s ex-husband have officially gotten past their bad blood. Apparently, the “feud,” if you’d like to call it that, stems from comments O’Connell made following the release of Stamos’ book. This is what happened.

John Stamos and Jerry O’Connell never had a professional relationship. They never starred in a show or movie together. Still, they were connected by the woman they both loved. John Stamos was married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 until their split in 2004, though they had dated for four years before tying the knot. During their marriage, Romijn’s career skyrocketed while Stamos, who was more successful when the pair met, struggled to find a new footing in Hollywood.
After their split, Romijn met Jerry O’Connell. They married in 2007, after going public with their romance before Romijn’s divorce from Stamos was finalised. O’Connell later revealed that he pursued Romijn tirelessly during their early romance. They welcomed twins the following year. Stamos dated several women after his divorce before settling down with Caitlin McHugh in 2018. They have one child together.
The actors were feuding after John Stamos spoke negatively about his ex in his book
John Stamos and Jerry O’Connell never really discussed the actual feud. Neither has said anything all that negative about the other, but there were some comments. The feud apparently stemmed from Stamos’ book. In his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos delved deeply into his life with Romijn before their split, and how negatively he viewed her at the time. Stamos accused his ex-wife of cheating on him, admitted that he “hated her,” resented her success, and saw her as “the devil” while their marriage was unravelling.
The harsh words were not missed by O’Connell and Romijn. While she stayed mostly quiet after the book’s release, O’Connell did speak out. In November 2023, O’Connell appeared on the Andy Cohen SiriusXM show and was asked about the book. At the time, O’Connell said neither he nor his wife had any “interest” in reading what Stamos had to say.
The following month, he lambasted Stamos for his harsh words towards Romijn. O’Connell called it a “betrayal” and argued that his wife deserved a heads-up about what had been written about her. It appears that she and Stamos hadn’t spoken in years when the book was published. They had both moved on years before Stamos wrote the memoir.

Jerry O’Connell may have had some harsh words for Stamos and his memoir in 2023, but he’s over it now. O’Connell announced that the feud was officially over via an Instagram post. The post included a selfie of O’Connell with his Stamos and Stamos’ wife, Caitlin McHugh.
While O’Connell wants everyone to know he and Stamos are no longer feuding, it’s unclear whether Rebecca Romijn agrees. She did not appear in the picture. In fact, it is unclear if she opted to attend the party where O’Connell and Stamos ran into each other. The event was to celebrate Howie Mendell’s 70th birthday.
