Joan Vassos Shoots Down Split Rumors By Updating Fans on Her Plans With Chock Chapple
Joan Vassos accidentally sparked breakup rumors when she posted a Thanksgiving message to her friends and fans. The Golden Bachelorette fans were quick to notice that she didn’t mention her fiancé, Chok Chapple, in the message. While plenty of people believed a breakup announcement was forthcoming, Joan is currently doing damage control. She is shooting down rumours of a split with a new upload, explaining what she has planned for the next month. Apparently, she’ll be spending an extended period of time with Chock very soon.
Joan Vassos sparked breakup rumors
Over the holiday weekend, Joan Vassos was feeling very thankful. She was feeling grateful for her life, her family, her grandchildren, and all of the opportunities that have come her way. She said as much in a video posted to Instagram. What she did not mention was that she was thankful for Chock Chapple, the man she picked at the end of The Golden Bachelorette last year.
The omission had fans going wild with theories about a split. Reddit users were quick to suggest they saw a breakup coming, suggesting the duo’s body language was off during their brief appearance on the finale of The Golden Bachelor season 2. They also noted that Joan and Chock seemed to be spending less time together. While the theories persist, Joan was back on Instagram to try to do some damage control.
Joan Vassos dispels breakup rumors by sharing when she’ll be seeing Chock Chapple next
Joan Vassos isn’t going to let people think she and her man are calling it quits. While the Thanksgiving message absolutely failed to mention Chock and his family, she is back on Instagram to make it clear that they are still very much a thing and are looking forward to spending time together. She took to her Instagram Stories on December 2 to inform everyone that she was looking forward to spending the next month in New York with Chock. Joan even asked for recommendations for things to do and see in the city while they are there to make it seem really casual and breezy. Vassos did not, however, mention where she’ll be staying or whether the couple has finally settled into a home in the Big Apple.
While her Thanksgiving message was a bit suspicious, there is evidence from before the message to indicate the couple is still moving forward with their romance and doing so happily. Just weeks before Thanksgiving, Joan spent some time at the happiest place on earth with Chock and several other family members. She noted that Disney properties were special to their romance.
‘The Golden Bachelorette’ fans still don’t think the couple is committed to getting married
Joan Vassos certainly is trying to prove that she and Chock Chapple are fine. They may be very much okay for now. Still, viewers and fans aren’t entirely sure that the couple will be going the distance, nor are they convinced that they’ll ever actually make it down the aisle.
Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have made the most of their fame. The duo, who met on season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette, have been hard at work since the end of the series. Between commercials, influencing, and appearances at Bachelor Nation events, the couple has built new careers in their golden years. What they haven’t done is move in together.

Despite being engaged, the pair doesn’t live anywhere near each other. Chock has kept his home in Kansas, where he owns a business. Vassos remains in Maryland, close to her children and grandchildren. The pair were planning to have a pied-à-terre in New York City, but a year after the series ended, they still haven’t publicly committed to a space.
Fans suspect that while Chock and Joan truly enjoy being around each other, they probably aren’t compatible long-term. Neither seems interested in moving permanently, which would make a marriage a bit difficult, though they seem to be making their non-traditional situation work for now.
