Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift broke up close to two decades ago, but the connection between them is back in the news. After Swift released her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, people quickly pointed out that the titular track sounds a lot like one of her ex-boyfriend’s songs. While the Jonas Brothers have not directly commented on the similarities, Jonas did share his thoughts on the album, possibly addressing the rumors in the process.

After the release of The Life of a Showgirl, fans have pointed out that some songs sound a lot like other hits. “Wood,” for example, sounds remarkably similar to “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5. People also noted that “The Life of a Showgirl” sounds a lot like “Cool” by the Jonas Brothers.

In a recent interview, Jonas shared his diplomatic opinion on his ex-girlfriend’s album.

“I’ve heard some of it,” he told Esquire. “I think she’s obviously the biggest artist out there, and I think it’s good.”

“Everybody’s got an opinion about it,” he said, “but from what I’ve heard, there are some catchy melodies.”
