Still, they eventually did turn romantic. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic and Woods’ very public feud with the Kardashian family over Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandal, the couple began dating.

In September 2020, they went public with their romance via Instagram. In 2021, Towns actually credited the pandemic with bringing a new dynamic to his relationship with Woods. During an appearance on Woods’ Instagram series, Regular-Ish, Towns said the pandemic encouraged them to really establish where their relationship was going. He said they slowed down and really assessed if they should be friends or more than friends, opting for the latter.

The NBA star made it known how serious he was about Woods in 2021

Karl-Anthony Towns might have just put a ring on Jordyn Woods’ finger, but he’s been pretty passionate about the romance from the start. In fact, looking back, the NBA star was sure that Woods was the one back in 2021. During the early part of their relationship, critics took to social media to bash the couple’s romance. Whether they hated Woods, hated the couple together, or felt like Woods wasn’t good for Towns’ career, they said it all on X (formerly Twitter). Towns was quick to shut down the hate, though.

In 2021, he took to X to silence his critics and, in doing so, revealed that engagement was on his mind even then. He said people were going to talk no matter what, including when he put a ring on Woods’ finger. So far, those critics haven’t reemerged, or, at least, not in large enough numbers for the happy couple to care.

They’ve both discussed the support and trust in their romance

Over the years, Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns have both discussed how important their relationship is to them and how much they enhance each other’s lives. Woods has openly discussed feeling safe, loved, and cared for by Towns. Towns has credited Woods with keeping him on track, noting that her daily support means everything to him. Now, they are sharing their engagement news. Woods took to Instagram to reveal that her Christmas included an engagement. In the photo, Towns is down on one knee at Overstory, a rooftop bar. The photo shows the New York City skyline in the background, with Woods emotional as she says yes to her longtime love. No wedding plans have been announced yet. The happy couple is clearly enjoying their special moment.
