It has been years since the Duggar family has been on TLC. Their time on the network was cut short when Josh Duggar was arrested for possessing and receiving child sex abuse images. It was not the family’s first sex abuse scandal. Apparently, he was also not the only sexual predator in the Duggar camp. Joseph Duggar, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s sixth-born child, has been arrested on sex abuse charges. Here’s everything we know so far.

Joseph Duggar has been arrested

The Duggar family has another sex abuse scandal on their hands. Joseph Duggar has been arrested for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The arrest reportedly stems from multiple incidents that occurred in 2020, when the unnamed victim was just 9. It is unclear how the victim is connected to the Duggar family.

According to WAFB, the Bay County Sherrif’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Joseph Garret Duggar, 31, on March 18, after the victim told Tontitown police officers that Duggar had touched her inappropriately during a family vacation in Panama City, Florida, in 2020. The victim’s father approached Duggar about the alleged incident a day earlier, according to reports. Tontitown police conducted a forensic interview.

Joseph is awaiting extradition to Florida, where he will officially be charged. The charge could carry a pretty hefty prison term. Joseph currently resides in Arkansas with his wife, Kendra Caldwell, and their children. Their son, Garrett, and daughters, Brooklyn and Addison, were born on Counting On. They added at least one more child to the family following their decision to leave the spotlight. Justus Duggar was born sometime in 2022.

The news that Joseph Duggar has been arrested comes as something of a shock for Duggar family followers, critics included. Joseph was one of the quieter members of the family, shying away from the spotlight and keeping a relatively low profile. His siblings, however, often spoke highly of him.

The Duggar family has not yet made a statement regarding Joseph’s arrest. It is important to note that Joseph is among the very few Duggar siblings reported to have visited Josh Duggar in federal prison. Joseph chose not to speak out against his sibling when he was arrested. Several Duggars opted to denounce Josh’s behavior.
