This month, Justin Bieber surprised everyone with the release of his first album in years. Many fans are celebrating the album and describing it as Bieber’s best effort yet. Still, a number of people have taken issue with it. One track in particular is making fans cringe.

Justin Bieber’s fans are not liking one track on his new album

On “Soulful,” an interlude on Bieber’s album, comedian Druski compliments the album by telling Bieber, a White Canadian, that he sounds Black.

“You kinda sound black on this motherf***er, man,” he said. “You played that last song, I said, ‘Damn.’ You got a lil’— ayy, I’m tellin’ you, you more than two percent on this album right here, I-I can hear the soul. Your soul is black.”

Bieber thanks Druski for saying this. While Druski appears several times on the album, fans find this track in particular difficult to listen to.

“Wait Justin included this on his album, like an individual track?” wrote one Reddit user. “This is so corny for both of them.”

“There is no song on this album good enough to justify this interlude and I say that as someone that didn’t even hate the album,” wrote another person. “Justin needs someone to curb his impulses because his choices can be so corny (aka the MLK interludes on Justice).”

While people were calling out Druski for saying this, many others found it embarrassing that Bieber repeatedly thanked him on the track.

“It’s even more cringe JB saying ‘thank you’ to the comment,” wrote one person.

“The ‘thank you’ damn-near killed me,” wrote another person. “I laughed so hard.”

A number of people also took issue with the track because of Bieber’s past use of the n-word.

“So the guy who was telling racist jokes not far enough back has a black soul now,” commented one person. “Mmm kay.”

Many fans are celebrating Justin Bieber’s new album

Though the album has its critics, many people have celebrated it. It has largely received positive reviews, and some fans think it could be the best album of the year.

“Is it not clocking to you that Justin Bieber dropped AOTY,” wrote a Reddit user.

Many people have speculated about Bieber’s mental health in recent months, so some fans were pleasantly surprised to find they liked the album.

“Caught off guard about how good this album is,” wrote one person.

Even people who expected it to be a disaster have enjoyed it.

“With the title being Swag I thought he was just going to crashout the entire album, I lowkey got my popcorn ready,” one person wrote. “Legitimately didn’t think he was going to drop potential AOTY. I owe him an apology, this album is life to me. Never would’ve expected to gel with a full Bieber album in my lifetime.”

‘Swag’ debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100

While Swag has been a critical success, it is Bieber’s first album to not debut at No. 1. Instead, it debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
