Justin Bieber has been in the music industry since childhood, and he has spoken often about the difficulties of fame. The singer recently posted criticisms about the industry and what he faced in the early years of his career. He said that moving forward, he wants to make the industry a safer place for other artists.

Justin Bieber posted a statement about his hopes for the music industry

Bieber rose to international superstardom as a teenager following the release of “Baby.” In a recent Instagram post, Bieber reflected on his lengthy career in the music industry in between Bible verses. 

“I didn’t come out of this untouched,” the post reads. “I grew up inside a system that took more than it guarded. That pain was real — but it doesn’t define me anymore.”

Bieber noted that his Christian faith helped him deal with “wounds you don’t see” from his upbringing. 

“I’m not speaking as a victim still bleeding – I’m speaking as someone restored,” the post reads, later noting, “Because I’m healed, I can forgive. Not to pretend injustice didn’t happen, but so it doesn’t keep living through me.”

While Bieber doesn’t want to “burn the music industry down,” he does “want to see it made new – safer, more honest, more human.”

In the past, Bieber has made similar posts reflecting on his faith, struggles with anger management, and thoughts on inauthenticity.
