Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman‘s fans were surprised last year when it was announced that they were divorcing after 19 years of marriage.

Details later emerged with sources saying that the two had been living separately and the actress ultimately had no choice but to file for divorce after Urban ignored her attempts to try and make things work. Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested to be named the “primary residential parent” of their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

Their divorce was finalized in early 2026 and involved splitting a global property empire valued at over $280 million. While specific total legal costs is not known, the settlement required them to pay their own legal fees, with reports suggesting the high-profile separation was financially significant, although they waived spousal support. And now something Urban signed on to do has some claiming that he’s likely having financial problems.

Before his divorce from Kidman, Urban reportedly had an estimated net worth of $75 million. But all signs point to that number taking a hit after his latest gig was on a cruise ship. The “Your Everything” singer performed in front of about 1,000 people on board the Bahamas-bound Top Shelf Country Cruise vessel.

That is a far cry from the arenas he’s used to selling out, but does it mean he has money woes?

There’s really no way to tell since the details of the settlement have not been made public. However, it’s common knowledge that divorce lawyers for high-profile celebrities are not cheap. And insiders told New Idea Magazine that there’s no denying the cruise ship was a notable downgrade for Urban, with one source insisting, “It’s the kind of gig that Keith would have turned his nose up at during his marriage to Nicole.”

Another source added, “Cruise ships are not exactly the dream gig, but they pay the bills — and it gives Keith something to focus on. He’s trying to stay busy now that his divorce is finalized.”

While a third said, the musician is “putting a bright spin on everything right now,” despite the contrast between the cruise performance and his recent sell-out tour, adding, “Keith is determined to keep working while he figures out, with his new management team, some exciting plans for the latter part of this year.”

There were also rumors that some in Urban’s circle were concerned he was going through a “midlife crisis” after his eldest daughter’s March cover interview with Elle Australia, in which she praised her mother but made no mention of her father.

“My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do,” Sunday told the magazine.

That comes on the heels of reports that both daughters have cut their dad off since their parents’ split and are not on speaking terms with him at this time.

As for the cruise, the price passengers paid for their seven-day voyage ranged from $6,700 to $19,000, but just how much Keith received for the gig was not disclosed.
