Kendra Caldwell Allegedly Banned Form Seeing ‘Unnamed Victims’ in Her Child Endangerment Case
Duggar family followers, even the most ardent of critics, never expected to see Kendra Cladwell arrested. That’s exactly what has happened, though. On March 20, Caldwell was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and false imprisonment. While she has since been released from lockup, she must follow certain conditions to remain free until her next court date. One of those conditions will keep her away from her victims. Here is everything we know so far.
Kendra Caldwell was ordered not to have contact with her alleged victims
Kendra Caldwell is suddenly without a family to care for following her arrest. The 27-year-old was released on bond on March 20 to an empty house. Her husband, Joseph Duggar, is currently in jail, awaiting extradition to Florida to answer for lewd and lascivious behavior charges. Her four children have reportedly been removed from the home, and she has been ordered not to have contact with them.
According to the Ashley Reality Roundup Group, Kendra was ordered not to have contact with the victims of her child endangerment and false imprisonment charges at least until her next court date. That court date won’t take place until April 29. The release documents don’t name the victims. Still, Amy Duggar King indicated that all four of Kendra and Joseph’s children had been removed from the home during an interview. It is largely assumed that those children are the victims of the alleged crimes. Most Duggar family members have avoided addressing Kendra’s arrest. They have spoken out, at length, about Joseph’s charges, though.
What led to Kendra Caldwell’s arrest?
Initial reports did not indicate what actually led to Kendra’s apprehension by authorities, but insiders have stepped forward in recent days. One insider told People that a warrant was issued for the 27-year-old’s arrest after a home inspection revealed that she and Joseph Duggar had installed exterior locks on bedroom doors. The home inspection allegedly stemmed from Joseph Duggar’s child molestation charges in Florida, but the charges that followed were not related to that alleged crime. The locks would, in theory, allow a person to lock another person inside a room. Still, it’s unclear whether that happened here.
She is now facing four counts of false imprisonment and four counts of child endangerment. Joseph has been charged with the exact same crimes. While the victims are unnamed in court documents, it is largely assumed the charges pertain to the four children she and Joseph share. The eldest child, Garrett, was born in 2018. They are also parents to daughters, Addison, 6, and Brooklyn, 5. Their youngest child, Justus, was born in 2022. It is unclear where the children are living at this time.
This is a developing story.
