While her ex-husband appeared to be lucky in love following their split, with his girlfriend fighting his online battle for him, things have turned toxic quickly. Kenleigh Heatwole has taken to social media to inform the masses that she has sent David Eason and his mountains of stuff back to his shed. David Eason and Kenleigh Heatwole’s relationship seems to be over, at least for the moment. While the end came swiftly, it seems fitting to take a look back at where it all began. Jenelle Evans and David Eason split up in February 2024. He packed up and vacated their shared home, moving into his unseaworthy boat. He started spending a lot of time at local bars, with several Reddit users claiming to have seen him around in Wilmington, North Carolina.

That spring, David Eason and his new love, Kenleigh Heatwole, made it Instagram official. It looks like they likely linked up in March or April 2024, just a couple of months after Eason’s split from Evans. He appears to have moved into her house almost immediately, leaving the boat to further deteriorate. Heatwole has spent the entirety of their relationship defending Eason for everything from child abuse allegations to the shooting death of Evans’ dog, Nugget. She has also insisted that he paid “all of the bills” and was actively working; claims that almost no one believes. The honeymoon is over, though. As of September 2025, they have called it quits, about a year and a half after meeting.

What caused their sudden split?

While Kenleigh Heatwole was on social media defending her former partner on Sept. 2, things apparently soured very quickly after that. By the following day, the former duo were posting passive-aggressive messages at each other. On Sept. 4, Heatwole took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim she had kicked David Eason to the curb.

According to Heatwole, Eason, at some point, accused her of cheating on him, though she claims he won’t tell her where he got that idea or what she did wrong. Eason seemed to confirm the cheating allegations on his Instagram, claiming that a person who is doing nothing wrong should have nothing to hide. He’s now lying low on social media, though he was never a prolific poster anyway. Heatwole, much like David Eason’s ex-wife, is tethered to social media, so we can expect more updates as the situation progresses.

Jenelle Evans has already shared a cryptic message

Chronically online, Jenelle Evans didn’t miss a chance to get in on the action. The mother of three was ready with a cryptic comment about the alleged falling out between Eason and his latest lady before the rest of the world knew about it. She took to X (formerly Twitter) last night, writing, “He wants me back, but I don’t want him.” While her fans supported her in the comments, she also had just as many critics chiming in.

That did not deter Evans. She returned to Twitter to laugh at her ex-husband’s current situation, joking that he was headed to live back on his broken-down boat.
