Kevin Hart Is the Latest Celebrity Who Hates Their Wax Figure
Kevin Hart is the latest celebrity to have a wax figure made. While some of these are uncannily accurate, others are … less so. Most celebrities keep quiet about their inaccurate wax figures, but others have pointed out the problems with them. Here are the celebrities who have spoken up about their wax figures, and others who maybe should have.
Kevin Hart recently poked fun at his wax figure
Hart’s new wax figure at Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN, shocked him. It bears almost no resemblance to him. Hart commented on it and jokingly asked for a redo.
“WTTTTFFFFF …. What did I do to these people…. This is an attack….” he wrote on Instagram. “Who in the f*** is this?????? At this point these museums are just trying to make me cry ….. This s*** has to stop…. I demand a redo damn it!!!!!!!”
While most commenters agreed with him, his friend, Dwayne Johnson, said it felt right to him.
“It’s PERFECT,” he commented. “Don’t change a thing.”
Dwayne Johnson and Ellen DeGeneres have also commented on their wax figures
Johnson also criticized a wax figure made of him in 2023. People quickly pointed out that it looked slightly off, and Johnson himself said the skin color was far too light.
“I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements — starting with my skin color,” he wrote on Instagram. “And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself.”
The museum quickly worked to rectify this. They believed he was correct to criticize the figure.
“We found his reaction rather friendly when addressing the fact that his figure was indeed whiter than it should have been,” Veronique Berecz, the museum’s head of PR, told Variety. “Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet Dwayne Johnson so we used several photos — but as it turns out, pictures can be very tricky because the nuances of skin tones can differ depending on the lighting on photos. Every time, the sculptor has to determine the exact face and body shapes, the volumes and it’s always a very complicated challenge if we haven’t met the person.”
Ellen DeGeneres also poked fun at her wax figure. During an interview with Benedict Cumberbatch on her show, she showed his near-eerily accurate wax figure. She then showed hers in comparison.
“This is mine,” she told him. “And it’s not a joke.”
He reacted with shock and asked, “Really?”
“Really,” she told him. “I mean, who is that? That’s like an usher at, uh, Branson, Missouri. Some theater there.”
What other celebrities have inaccurate wax figures?
While these celebrities have criticized their wax figures, they are far from the only ones to have an inaccurate rendition of themselves. Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, Naomi Campbell, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé and more all have noticeably bad wax figures.
