Kid Rock, who will embark on a brief tour through North America on May 1, has slammed reports that some tickets are available for $5,000. The issue is not that reporting on the cost of attendance is untrue; a number of tickets are available for several thousand dollars. Still, he claimed that the reporting isn’t fair. He said God would “cut down” media outlets as retribution.

Kid Rock pushed back at reporting on his concert ticket prices

On May 1, Kid Rock will kick off his Freedom 250 tour in Dallas. Subsequent shows will take place throughout the United States. First-class packages to these shows cost up to $5,000. Front row seats cost $5,000, second row seats cost $4,000, third row seats cost $3,000, fourth row seats cost $2,000, and fifth row seats cost $1,000. Other benefits included in the package are not currently clear.

The eye-wateringly high price point of some of these tickets has garnered attention. Kid Rock has responded to criticism of his tour prices.

“Here we go again,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “The fake liberal media says I’m charging $5,000 for front-row tickets. They know damn well that’s not the full story.”

He said that while there are tickets available at that price point, other tickets are more affordable.

“Those are extremely limited First Class seats like I explained  — FOUR tickets per row, first five rows only (5k per seat row 1, 4k row 2, 3k row 3, 2k row 4, 1k row 5) — Again ONLY 4 seats in rows 1 through 5 (20 “first class” seats in venues that hold 15k to 25k people),” he wrote. “But instead of reporting facts or that lawn seats are only 50 bucks or how we are cutting out the scalpers, they twist it for headlines / clicks and to attack me – nothing new here.”

He ended his post by noting that he hopes media outlets face consequences for their reporting.

“I WILL pray for them, but I know that sooner or later God will cut ‘em down,” he wrote.

Kid Rock previously spoke to Congress about the cost of concert tickets

Kid Rock previously testified to the Senate Commerce Committee over what he described as unfair pricing practices in the ticketing industry.

“Independent venues have been crushed. Artists have lost leverage. Fans are paying more than ever, and getting blamed for it,” he said, per Variety. “Should Ticketmaster and Live Nation be broken up? Probably. Would that alone fix things? Not sure it would. But I am sure of this: no artist should be forced to sell their tickets without a say in who sells them and how they are sold.”

Kid Rock said the industry was full of “greedy snakes and scoundrels” who had the power to stop price gouging but chose not to. He concluded his speech by advocating for price caps, a ban on speculative pricing, and increased control for artists.

He is a vocal supporter of Donald Trump

Kid Rock’s call out of the “fake liberal media” is not surprising given his ardent support of Donald Trump.
