Kim Buike and Faith Martin seemed to have something special, despite the Bachelor in Paradise cast voting them off pretty quickly. The duo even took to Instagram to reveal that they had been spending time together outside of Costa Rica. It really looked like there was going to be a happy ending for the golden couple. Unfortunately, things weren’t meant to last forever. Buike just updated fans on where he and Faith Martin stand right now. The Washington natives have recently decided they are not a perfect match.

Kim Buike and Faith Martin left ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ together

The addition of golden contestants on Bachelor in Paradise was a bold move, but it is one that paid off. While viewers had numerous complaints about the series’ new format, most fans and even contestants agree that the addition of the “goldens,” as they’ve been nicknamed, brought something special to the show. Not only did they have their own romances, but they also served as support and a sounding board for younger contestants. Their appearance also livened up the show. In fact, many fans were sad to see so many goldens leave so soon.

While there were fewer golden contestants than younger couples, one pair appeared to find love. Faith Martin and Kim Buike met when Faith joined the cast later than the other goldens. They hit it off quickly and were awfully affectionate with each other. Still, they were ultimately voted out by the other contestants. While both were sad to go, they insisted they were leaving with a newfound love connection, and that was true, for a while.

The retired Navy captain gives fans a sad update

While Bachelor in Paradise fans loved seeing Faith Martin and Kim Buike together, they aren’t going to love the latest on the couple. Kim Buike doesn’t post on social media much, but in the last several weeks, he has shared Bachelor in Paradise content. Until a few weeks ago, he was replying to comments about himself and Faith, implying that they were still together. Martin uploaded a video of Kim visiting her and her family. Things seemed to be going well.

More recently, that took a turn. A Reddit user shared a comment Buike left on Instagram that revealed he and Faith ultimately decided they were not a match, despite giving their romance a shot in real life. He did not explain what led to the decision, but did say they were moving on as friends and hoping for the best for each other.

Did any of the ‘Golden’ couples find love on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’?

Things didn’t work out for Kim and Faith, but they did make an effort to try to make it work  back in Washington state. Their proximity seemed to give the duo long-term potential. The other “golden” couples who appeared on Bachelor in Paradise were battling much more difficult logistical issues. So, did any of them stay together? From the looks of it, the answer is no.

Leslie Fhima and Gary Levingston linked up at a Bachelor Nation event in Lake Tahoe recently. Still, it isn’t romantic. Fhima previously stated that they are not dating and are building a foundation of friendship during a recent podcast interview. While she doesn’t seem to be ruling out the possibility of finding a partner in Levingston, the couple live in different parts of the country, making a romance hard. Neither seems interested in moving. Keith Gordon and Kathy Swarts were the only other golden “team” to compete for the cash prize. Still, they were never romantic. Throughout their time on Bachelor in Paradise, they maintained that they were just great friends. They’ve maintained that stance since. They were the only golden pair to appear on the recent reunion podcast.

The contestants sourced from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have had a much better success rate this year. Four of the final couples remain together, with Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards getting engaged on the show.
