King Charles’ Brother Andrew’s Eviction Has Come Earlier Than Expected as Moving Vans Are Spotted Outside Home
When King Charles stripped his brother, Andrew, of the prince title he held since birth, the monarch also announced that the disgraced royal would vacate the lavish 30-room home in which Andrew held a 75-year lease.
Buckingham Palace’s statement at the time read in part: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor … “[Andrew’s] lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”
Because that decision was made in October 2025, many expected to see moving vans outside the Windsor Park mansion home almost immediately, and Andrew would begin his life of royal exile. But as the weeks and months passed, Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were still living at the residence. But now there are signs that they won’t be too much longer.
On Jan. 14, moving vans were seen arriving and later leaving Royal Lodge, likely moving personal belongings out of the home and into another. While some initial reports claimed that Andrew might not be leaving until October 2026, others now claim that the king’s sibling will move into a temporary home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk as early as the end of this month.
If that’s accurate, it’s not 100% clear what prompted the move to be pushed up from the previous date, but it should be noted that these removal trucks showed up one day after it was reported that Andrew and Sarah were looking to sell off valuable royal items located inside the property.
It’s believed that Andrew’s next permanent home will be a five-bedroom house known as Marsh Farm in Norfolk.
