King Charles Invites Prince Harry and Meghan to Stay at His Favorite Royal Residence
Prince Harry is set to travel to the U.K. later this month for another court case, and ahead of his trip there are reports that tensions between the duke and his father, King Charles, have been cooling.
There’s even chatter now that the monarch has offered an olive branch to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if they choose to visit the U.K. together in the next few months.
Here’s more on what a source has just revealed and why experts are saying “not so fast.”
Where King Charles has reportedly said Meghan and Harry could stay
Following Prince Harry’s visit to his father’s residence in September 2025, many wondered what came out of their meeting and hoped a reconciliation was on the horizon. Well, at least one source has claimed that the king really wants to smooth things over with not just the duke but also his daughter-in-law, Meghan. So to prove that, he has invited the Sussexes to stay at his Highgrove House should they visit the U.K. in the coming months.
There’s been plenty of speculation that both Harry and Meghan will return to the U.K. together, and possibly even with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for an Invictus Games event in Birmingham this July. Multiple festivities will be held to celebrate the games being held in that city.
“There’s a good chance that they will stay at the royal residence during a U.K. stay that includes Invictus events if the current thaw in family relations continues,” a source shared with the Daily Mail.
An invitation to stay at Highgrove House is definitely seen as a major olive branch, considering that it is said to be the king’s favorite royal residence.
The monarch purchased the nine-bedroom, six-bathroom house in 1980. The private country retreat has often been referred to as Charles’ “cherished sanctuary.” It’s also where he enjoys many of his personal hobbies, including painting and gardening.
Other reports say that’s untrue and the king is avoiding Harry now
However, others have slammed that report and said it’s completely made-up. They claim that the king won’t even see Harry in the coming weeks, let alone offer him and Meghan a place to stay in the coming months.
“It’s important to note that King Charles does not regularly communicate with Harry,” royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital. “The royal family views him as untrustworthy and a liability, largely due to concerns that private conversations will quickly find their way into the press.”
According to The Telegraph, King Charles, who typically takes a break from public duties in January, will “almost certainly” be in Scotland when his youngest son visits England this month and has “no wish to be linked to any court proceedings.”
British photographer Helena Chard added, “Prince Harry is accustomed to a life built on conflict. He has sued the Mail on Sunday and much more, to the embarrassment of his father. He still maintains that he has been stitched up by the establishment. It’s a no-brainer, and safe to say, that King Charles will not be seeing Prince Harry.”
