King Charles ‘Made Excuses’ for Andrew Over Epstein Scandal Until Prince William Said Enough Is Enough
The world has watched Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor‘s fall from grace, and it seems like with each passing day more and more revelations about the ex-prince’s connections and correspondents with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are being brought to light.
That’s why the royal family has taken action, stripping Andrew of his regal titles and forcing him to leave his lavish 30-room residence in Windsor.
In October, it was reported that King Charles decided to put his foot down and Buckingham Palace issued a statement that read, “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor … His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation.
“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
But now there is a report that those measures were not made swiftly by the king as he was dragging his feet in doing anything against his younger brother, and it was Prince William who pushed his father to take the much-needed action.
According to Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice substack, a source claimed that King Charles “dithered” and “stalled. He made excuses, and he worried far more about Andrew’s feelings than the monarchy’s image.”
A second added that the king “didn’t want to upset Andrew. That was the priority” as his brother continued to deny anywrongdoing.
A third source said that Andrew’s other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, also didn’t intervene because no one “wanted to be the bad guy.”
A fourth insider insisted that Prince William is the one who spoke up and made it known that he felt something must be done.
“William said, ‘This is existential. The monarchy is at stake,” the insider revealed. “And that was the moment it ended. Charles feels. William calculates. And in this case, calculation saved the Crown for the moment.”
Prior to this report, some members of the royal family have spoken about the Epstein scandal and Andrew’s involvement.
Prince Edward stated that we need to “remember the victims and who are the victims in all this? A lot of victims in this.”
Days later, a spokesperson for William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) released a statement that read, “I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
And Buckingham Palace added that it would “stand ready to support” Thames Valley Police if approached over claims involving the king’s brother.
