Kody Brown Makes ‘Sister Wives’ Viewers Cringe With More Kissing Talk
Kody Brown made fans uncomfortable once again on Sister Wives. During a recent episode, the former polygamist sat down with his daughter, Aurora Brown, and her boyfriend to discuss whether or not they should be getting physical. The conversation, in which Kody tells Brodie that he might be kissing “another man’s wife,” was certainly an odd moment. Still, it wasn’t the first time he’s been obviously obsessed with his children’s romantic lives. There have been uncomfortable moments before. We’ve collected two prominent examples.
Kody Brown discussed ‘mouth hormones” with Mykelti Padron
Kody Brown made the world uncomfortable way back in 2014, when he sat his teen daughter, Mykelti Padron, down with her then-boyfriend, John, to discuss the dangers of kissing. The father of 18 told the teens that kissing was “very dangerous” because of the exchange of “hormones” through the mouth. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Brown told the teens, “When you kiss – the person that you kiss, their hormones go into your mouth and it registers certain things that will stimulate both the heart and the body for other reasons.” He went on to insist that “science” backed up his claims. The uncomfortable conversation had viewers squirming from thousands of miles away.
It should come as no surprise that Mykelti and her then-beau split up. The conversation alone would have sent most men packing. Mykelti eventually moved on and began dating Tony Padron. The couple was engaged just months after meeting and married shortly thereafter. Despite the family’s initial tepedation, they appear to be happy together. Tony and Mykelti moved from Utah to North Carolina in recent months, much to the chagrin of Christine Brown. They share three children.
He made crass comments about his sons, too
Fans found his comments to Mykelti and her then-boyfriend cringeworthy, but Kody Brown was downright offensive in more recent years. During a one-on-one interview, the father of 18 claimed he refused to spend time with his other wives and children because of the actions of his older sons. Kody claimed that he was frustrated with Gabriel Brown and Garrison Brown’s refusal to adhere to his stringent COVID-19 protocols. He claimed he would be “so mad” if his “younger children” were to die from COVID because “somebody had to get their pencil wet.”
The crass comment suggested that Gabriel and Garrison were spending time with friends and romantic partners. He suggested they were “disregarding” the safety of their family members for the chance to have sex. Gabriel and Garrison were at odds with Kody during the height of the pandemic. Garrison died in 2024. Gabriel has since moved to Chicago and has no public relationship with his father.
