Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have been dating since 2023 and after choosing not to speak much about their relationship, the Marty Supreme actor has been mentioning his “partner” lately.

The 2026 award season kicked off with Chalamet winning Best Actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards. He thanked the reality star in his acceptance speech, saying, “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Jenner was then seen mouthing the words “I love you” back to Chamalet.

One week later, he expressed his love for Jenner again after winning Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Many fans have been loving the shoutouts Chamalet is giving to his girlfriend, and something fans have noticed about Jenner recently is that she’s been wearing a huge diamond rock on her hand. However, the beauty mogul is not sporting the sparkler on her ring finger, but rather her pinky. So why are so many people speculating that it’s an engagement ring?

Neil Dutta, managing director at the U.K. jewelry retailer Angelic Diamonds, told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “When a large diamond appears consistently during high-profile appearances, people naturally assume it marks something significant. Add in the fact that the relationship has been going on for years and continues to go from strength to strength, and it is easy to see why engagement rumors have taken hold. This is not a one-off piece. When a ring like this keeps appearing, people assume it has meaning, regardless of which finger it is on.”

According to Dutta, the ring mirrors one someone would wear after getting engaged, “A single, very large diamond worn on its own is exactly how engagement rings are usually presented in public. That is what people respond to.”

Dutta also broke down the cut and style of Jenner’s ring and how much it’s worth.

“From the photos, this is a very large pear-cut diamond, likely somewhere in the five to seven carat range,” he estimated. “At that size, with good color and clarity, you would expect values starting at $650,000, and potentially climbing much higher depending on the finer details.”

The jewelry expert added that pear cuts are rarely chosen at this scale unless the diamond itself is exceptional, explaining, “They are difficult to cut well, especially at larger sizes, because any imbalance is immediately visible. A pear of this size with good symmetry is not something you see often. When a band is this slim, it is because the diamond itself is strong enough to stand alone. You would only set a stone this exposed if you were confident in its cut, clarity, and overall quality.”

While the Khy founder’s rock may not be an engagement ring at all, we know that high-value diamonds are increasingly being worn outside traditional expectations these days, which is why a pinky ring can now attract as much attention as one worn on a ring finger.
