“We’re seeing a clear move away from rigid, highly structured curls towards softer waves that feel more natural and wearable,” said Danielle Louise, a beauty expert at Fresha. “Kylie Jenner’s Oscars look captures that perfectly because the hair still has glamour and volume but doesn’t feel overly styled.”
Louise thinks that Jenner’s appearance on the red carpet could further accelerate the growing trend.
“Major events like the Oscars can act as a tipping point,” she explained. “People may already be searching for a hairstyle, but when they see it on a global stage worn by celebrities, it reinforces the trend and inspires people to try it themselves.”
Louise believes that this trend will be dominant in the spring and summer.

Louise said that to achieve this look at home, people should use a large barrel curling iron.
“To recreate this type of wave, start by using a large barrel curling iron to create loose bends in the hair rather than tight curls. Once the hair has cooled, gently brush the waves out to soften them and create movement.”
She also recommended using a shine spray to achieve the same glossiness as Jenner’s red carpet look.
