Kylie Jenner’s Red Carpet Glam Is ‘Absolutely Adaptable’ for Everyday Wear, Beauty Expert Reveals

Kylie Jenner recently stepped on the red carpet with Timothée Chalamet for the premiere of Marty Supreme. The reality star’s orange dress was eye-catching, but her makeup routine also deserves some attention. A beauty expert said that the techniques used for Jenner’s makeup routine are also useful for everyday beauty.

At the Marty Supreme premiere, Jenner opted for a matte makeup look that fit with her bright orange dress. Hair and beauty expert Danielle Louise from Fresha said the techniques used for Jenner’s look were perfectly suited for someone in front of a camera.

“Kylie’s glam team understands exactly how red-carpet lighting, flash photography, and high-definition cameras behave,” Louise tells Showbiz Cheat Sheet in a statement. “Every detail of this look is intentional — from her contour placement to the finish of her skin. These are pro techniques, but they’re absolutely adaptable for everyday beauty.”

Louise noted that Jenner’s makeup artist used a vinyl-matte technique, which minimizes shine and smoothes skin without flattening her complexion. To recreate this, people should use a satin foundation and light powder in the T-zone alone before applying a hydrating mist.

Jenner’s contour is also slightly above her bone structure, which creates angles without harsh shadows. Louise noted that people should always blend contour upwards.

Louise also recommends that people looking to recreate the look use brown eyeshadow instead of black for a softer appearance. They should also smudge eyeliner at the corner of the eye instead of applying a heavy wing. By using these techniques along with Jenner’s signature overlined lips, people can easily achieve her red carpet glam.

“Kylie’s look works because her team focused on placement, harmony, and finish — not heavy makeup,” Louise said. “Anyone can recreate elements of this glam. It’s all about choosing techniques that flatter your features, not overwhelm them.”

People have long tried to recreate Jenner’s makeup looks. In earlier years, she opted for a heavier glam, but she admitted she has walked this back.

“I’ve definitely cut down on my make-up routine and have been leaning towards a more natural make-up look, so taking care of my skin is even more important since I’m letting it shine through more,” she told Dazed. “I’ve learned the key is to make sure I’m always hydrating my skin (even lips) — I love using our lip butter for this.”

While Jenner has embraced the popular makeup styles of the decade, she said she looks forward to a return to matte looks. These were popular when she launched her Kylie Cosmetics brand.

“I’m excited to see the return of matte looks,” she said. “Even though I’ve recently been embracing a more natural, dewy look, I still love my matte products like our plumping powder matte lip and lip liners.”

In 2015, Jenner launched Kylie Cosmetics. Ten years into its existence, Jenner said she wants the company to continue to evolve.

“When I launched Kylie Cosmetics, the brand thrived on urgency and exclusivity — it was a different time, there weren’t many celebrity beauty brands — people were just excited to see something new,” she told WWD. “Now, they’re looking for products that fit into their everyday routines, and I wanted to evolve Kylie Cosmetics into that everyday beauty brand.” 

She has several brands, but she described Kylie Cosmetics as the “number-one baby out of all my brands.”
