Who Is LA Rams Tight End Colby Parkinson’s Wife, Melanie?
After playing his college football at Stanford, where he tied the record for most touchdowns in a single game for a tight end, Colby Parkinson was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He spent four seasons with the Seahawks before signing with the division rival Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 offseason. In an NFC Wild Card Game against the Carolina Panthers on Jan. 10, 2026, Colby had two receptions for 34 yards, including a 19-yard game-winning touchdown with 38 seconds remaining on the clock.
With so much attention on him following that victory, fans want to know more about the athlete and his life off the field, including who his wife is.
How Colby and Melanie met and when they got married
Colby Parkinson and then-Melanie Bailes first connected on social media when the former sent her a message on Instagram. The two began chatting back and forth for a while and decided to meet in person on March 10, 2022.
Colby proposed on Oct. 24, 2022, and the two tied the knot on March 10, 2023, exactly one year after their first in-person meeting. They were married in a picturesque ceremony at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia.
“We talked for a few months, then we took a leap of faith and met in person on March 10, 2022,” Bailes told People. “We had a long-distance relationship that made our marriage even sweeter as we cherish every moment together!”
Shortly after their wedding, Colby shared, “I have never seen someone so beautiful in my entire life. I may or may not have cried! But it was the moment that God had prepared for us. … Marriage is such a beautiful thing. We followed God’s calling to get married and we cannot wait to do life together. Being husband and wife means we are operating as one for the rest of our lives. We are fully committed to each other and the Lord.”
Melanie is an athlete as well
Like Colby, Melanie is an athlete as well.
Melanie is a golfer who has enjoyed a successful amateur career. She’s won five state and national golf tournaments and competed in several events hosted by the prestigious American Junior Golf Association, which showcases top junior talent in the U.S.
She played collegiately while at the University of Alabama, where she also earned academic honors, and has been ranked in competitive women’s amateur fields like the Women’s Western Amateur.
How many children do Colby and Melanie have
In March 2024, one year after Colby and Melanie said “I do,” they welcomed a son, Forrest John Parkinson.
Their first child is the focus of their family life as seen in their social media posts. Colby often shares glimpses of his life with Forrest, mentioning how wonderful it is to see his son experience family moments, like attending his first Rams practices and games with Melanie.
