They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but for many celebrities, they have moved away from the traditional diamonds and are opting for rings with color.

Gemstone rings feature a non-diamond center stone and often have solitaire, halo, and three-stone settings. Stars like Rita Ora and Lady Gaga both had colored stones in halo designs.

The diamond experts at the U.K. jeweler Steven Stone are sharing details about the stunning rings that have become more popular due to their unique style and large size.

Maxwell Stone told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “When it comes to gemstone engagement rings, three timeless choices reign supreme: emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. Perhaps the most iconic of them all is Kate Middleton’s sapphire engagement ring, originally belonging to Princess Diana.

The expert then gave details on the unique colored gemstones Lady Gaga, Longoria, Ora, and Victoria Beckham sport in their engagement rings, sharing, “Instead of a traditional blue sapphire, Lady Gaga received a pink sapphire surrounded by a circle of diamonds in a flower design from Christian Carino. It has an estimated value upwards of $390,000.

“Rubies are also a favorite among those seeking both beauty and durability, as they are the vibrant red variety of sapphire. One of the most notable celebrity ruby engagement rings belongs to Victoria Beckham – an exquisite 15-carat oval-cut ruby encircled by diamonds, valued by our experts at around $6,500,000. Her close friend Eva Longoria also wears a spectacular ruby ring, featuring a large centre stone worth approximately $612,000.

Victoria’s dazzling collection doesn’t stop there. She also owns one of the most striking emerald engagement rings in the celebrity world — a 25-carat cushion-cut emerald nestled within a sculptural diamond spiral, valued at $3,900,000. Similarly, Rita Ora’s engagement ring shines with emerald brilliance: a 10-carat, emerald-cut Colombian green emerald framed by a delicate halo design, estimated at $612,000.”
