Lamar Odom Said His ‘Awkward’ Reunion With Khloé Kardashian Wasn’t Good for Him
Years after their divorce, Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian reunited on an episode of The Kardashians. Kardashian noted that Odom seemed nervous when they met up. He admitted to feeling uncomfortable in the meeting. He said that while he will always have love for Kardashian, he didn’t think their reunion was good for him.
Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian reunited after nearly a decade apart
During a Season 6 episode of The Kardashians, the former couple reunited for the first time in nine years. Odom described the meeting as “awkward.”
“It wasn’t really good for me,” he said on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, “but once you family, you’re always family. She ain’t going nowhere.”
He said that the love he has for her is not romantic anymore.
“I will always have love for her, but being in love, no,” he said.
Kardashian noted that her ex-husband seemed uncomfortable seeing her. He appeared visibly nervous throughout their conversation.
“He’s nervous, he’s sweating,” she said in a confessional on the show. “He seems scared.”
She cut contact with him after she discovered him using drugs
Kardashian and Odom remained close even after their divorce. After his 2015 overdose, she dedicated herself to his recovery. She rented him a home near her own, but once came home to find him using drugs.
“Once you know the smell of crack, it’s the most identifiable, disgusting smell, and there’s nothing you can confuse it with,” she said on the documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom.
She hit him when she realized he was smoking crack in the bedroom.
“I remember slowly tiptoeing up the stairs,” she said. “He was in his bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed, smoking crack. And I just punched him in his face. ‘I just put my life on hold to f***ing take care of you. How did you get this? You don’t have a f***ing phone. You can’t talk.’”
She kicked him out of the house, and they went another nine years without speaking.
“I was very upset. I said to him, ‘I’m going to Vegas. You need to be out by Monday. That’s it, I’m done,'” she said. “And I haven’t seen Lamar since that day.”
Khloé Kardashian said Lamar Odom was the love of her life
While Kardashian said Odom hurt her deeply in their relationship, she also loved him deeply.
“Lamar was, and is, definitely someone that I was like, the love of my life,” she said. “I got married when I was 24 and although him and I got married 30 days to the day after meeting one another, I loved him with all of my heart and soul.”
She said he was one of her greatest loves.
“I don’t know if I could even put into words what I felt for Lamar,” she said. “It felt like the most special, magical time of my life — the most purest love I’ve ever had. And although there was so much darkness in that marriage, there was the brightest of the bright times. And I love it and I cherish it.”
