Larsa Pippen wants everyone to relax; she insists she didn’t get more fillers. The Real Housewives of Miami star insists that her puffy appearance recently is not a look she tried to achieve. Pippen, instead, insists she was just having an allergic reaction and that it is improving. Still,  literally no one, including a board-certified doctor, believes here. Here is exactly what’s been going on.

Larsa Pippen appeared in a recent interview looking very different

Larsa Pippen could have stopped traffic on August 6, but not in a good way. The reality TV starlet appeared on Good Night New York on Wednesday, looking much different. Pippen’s face drew widespread attention for appearing swollen, plump, and somewhat disproportionate.

Fans were quick to assume Pippen had recent plastic surgery and had gone a bit too far with it. After all, she didn’t mention her face during the interview, and areas where you’d traditionally inject fillers were the only areas that looked particularly plump. Her look was so jarring that even a plastic surgeon weighed in on the situation. The social media attention clearly got to Pippen.

The reality TV star clapped back at negative comments

Larsa Pippen had no interest in addressing her puffy face during the interview, but she did take to social media to clap back at anyone who said she had gone too far with fillers. Pippen took to Instagram to insist that she did not, in fact, have too many fillers. She said her puffy appearance was an “allergic reaction” to a platelet-rich plasma treatment she underwent days earlier. She advised everyone to “chill out.”

A platelet-rich plasma treatment, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine, involves drawing a small amount of blood, spinning it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting that plasma into areas of the body to promote healing, collagen production, and tissue rejuvenation. It is commonly used to prevent wrinkles. While there are some side effects with the procedure, the nature of the treatment makes Pippen’s explanation implausible. Because PRP treatments use a client’s own blood, an allergic reaction is exceedingly rare. Several fans and a doctor pointed out that if she had a true allergic reaction, the swelling would have started to subside. That doesn’t seem to be the case. We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for her next appearance.
