Lauren Graham has been a busy woman for the last several months. Along with TV and movie projects, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and appeared at the Emmy Awards. She even announced an upcoming book with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Now, she’s offered an update on where that book stands. Fans probably won’t be too happy, though. The pair are having a hard time finding the time to get together.

Lauren Graham says ‘Gilmore Girls’ book isn’t too far along yet

Lauren Graham sat down for a chat with People regarding Reminders of Him, her upcoming movie. While there was plenty of chatter about the much-anticipated flick, she also offered an update on the Gilmore Girls book she and Amy Sherman-Palladino announced months ago. Unfortunately for fans, the book doesn’t seem to be all that far along.

Graham revealed to the outlet that she and Sherman-Palladino haven’t really had a chance to sit down and get to writing, though both have plenty of material and stories to tell. Graham said their schedules hadn’t yet matched up, with Sherman-Palladino working on a project in London and Graham focusing on the press tour for Reminders of Him. Still, she feels confident it will come together easily once they get in the same room together. They certainly have enough material.

As for a publication date, there is none, though fans should probably expect the book in 2027 instead of 2026. There is also a documentary project in the works. While plenty of stars have agreed to appear in that project, Graham is not one of them. No further revival episodes are planned at this time, though fans would love to reconnect with the Gilmore girls if they had the chance.

Gilmore Girls’ original seven-season run from 2000 to 2007 was considered a moderate success at the time. While the series had a cult following during its original run, its ratings were just average, and it was largely ignored at awards ceremonies. Nearly two decades later, the series has amassed a much larger following, remaining a highly streamed series year after year. While a 2026 revival garnered lots of attention, calls for more have not yet been answered. Still, fans and castmembers remain interested.
