Haley Kalil said she was shocked that her ex-husband, Matt Kalil, filed a lawsuit against her over claims she made about his penis size. Now, the influencer and model is asking a judge to dismiss the case. She is insisting that she is free to say what she wishes about her own experiences. Legal experts aren’t so sure a judge will go for it. Matt Kalil might actually have a case, and it could have far-reaching implications.

Why is Matt Kalil suing Haley Kalil

Earlier this month, Matt Kalil filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, Haley Kalil, for a comment she made during a Livestream appearance last year. In November 2025, Haley appeared on Twitch with Marlon Garcia. During the course of the conversation, she revealed her marriage ended partially due to sexual incompatibility. Haley, who was a virgin when she married Matt, claims that his penis was too big to comfortably have sex. She described it as “two Coke cans stacked on top of each other.”

Kalil filed a lawsuit claiming that his former wife invaded his privacy. He went on to say that he had been subjected to unwanted attention and ridicule because of the comment. Kalil also argues that she profited from the story and asked a judge to award him punitive damages. He is remarried and avoids the spotlight.

She has asked a judge to dismiss the case

Shortly after news of Matt Kalil’s lawsuit went public, Haley issued a public statement.  Haley’s legal representation spoke to People and stated that she was shocked and saddened by Matt Kalil’s decision to file a lawsuit against her. She went on to argue that the story she shared was about her personal life and her own experiences.

More recently, she filed her own motion, asking a judge to dismiss the lawsuit. Haley’s legal team argues that free-speech laws protect her. The motion also argues that the statement she made about her former marriage and Matt Kalil’s penis was “autobiographical.” A ruling has not yet been made.

Could Matt Kalil win?

Despite Haley’s request to dismiss the case, it remains active. Matt Kalil is seeking $75,000 in damages. While it could really go either way, some legal experts believe the former NFL star does, in fact, have a case.

According to FindLaw, Kalil might be able to prove his invasion-of-privacy claim. According to the resource, to make a claim for invasion of privacy, the plaintiff must prove that the invasion occurred in public. The former NFL star also needs to prove that the information shared is not of public concern and that it would be considered offensive by most people. While Kalil can probably prove all three of those things, FindLaw notes that his status as a public figure, whether past or present, could affect the claim. The case and its outcome could alter how public figures discuss their personal lives.
