On her new album, West End Girl, Lily Allen details the breakdown of her marriage to actor David Harbour. Allen sings about the couple’s Brooklyn brownstone that became the target of much online envy after their 2023 Architectural Digest tour. She reveals a darker side to the beautiful and luxurious home, accusing Harbour of conducting multiple affairs in it. The couple has now put their brownstone on the market.

Lily Allen and David Harbour are selling their Brooklyn home

Days after the release of West End Girl, Allen and Harbour put their home in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, on the market. The brownstone has five levels, five bedrooms, and four bathrooms. The former couple is asking for $7.995 million, over double what they paid for it.

In 2023, Allen and Harbour welcomed Architectural Digest into their home for a tour. The home is a maximalist’s dream, with bright wallpapers, patterned floors, and colorful furniture.

“I’ve always been interested in interiors, and I’ve always done my own homes. But this was a big undertaking, and I needed help. Together, [designer Billy Cotton] and I tried to reach for something weird and wonderful,” Allen told the outlet. “My kids call this the clown house.”

The brownstone has a finished basement, a home gym, and a backyard with a sauna and cold plunge.

Lily Allen alleged that David Harbour conducted multiple affairs out of their home

Allen mentions the home several times on West End Girl. On one of the more revealing tracks, “Pussy Palace,” she accuses Harbour of conducting multiple affairs out of the home.

“I found a shoebox full of handwritten letters / From brokenhearted women wishing you could have been better / Sheets pulled off the bed / Strewn all on the floor / Long black hair probably from the night before,” she sings. “Duane Reade bag with the handles tied / Sex toys, butt plugs, lube inside / Hundreds of Trojans, you’re so f***ing broken / How’d I get caught up in your double life?”

She noted that she felt blindsided by this discovery. She also wonders if her former husband was a “sex addict.”

The singer said she feels differently about their split now than she did when she wrote her album

Allen wrote West End Girl in the aftermath of her split from Harbour. She said that the raw emotions expressed on the album are not ones she feels any longer.

“I mean, I wrote this record in 10 days in December and I feel very differently about the whole situation now,” she told Interview Magazine. “We all go through breakups and it’s always f***ing brutal. But I don’t think it’s that often that you feel inclined to write about it while you’re in it.”

She said the album helped her process her feelings about the divorce.

“That’s what’s fun about this record; it’s viscerally like going through the motions,” she said. “At the time, I was really trying to process things and that’s great in terms of the album, but I don’t feel confused or angry now. I don’t need revenge.”

She noted that some of it is based on the truth, while some of it is fantasy.
