Lip Reader Reveals What Prince Harry and Meghan Were Whispering to Each Other During the NBA All-Star Game
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, haven’t made headlines much since the start of 2026, so the couple tried to get people talking and remind everyone they’re still here. They decided to create some buzz by sharing a rare pic of their daughter’s face via Meghan’s Instagram and also sat courtside at the NBA All-Star Game to make sure they were seen on TV.
That worked because experts began talking about them again. Here’s what a lip reader and body language guru said after analyzing the Sussexes’ appearance at the basketball game they attended on Feb. 15.

She has contributed to the likes of Daily Mail, Page Six, Newsweek, and many more.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Hicking told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that she noticed the prince and former Suits star sharing an inside joke about not knowing all the rules of basketball.
According to Hickling, Harry said to Meghan, “I can’t explain it, there’s so many rules.” Meghan sarcastically replied, “Explain it to me. I really don’t understand the game.” Harry then responded with an animated gesture, jokingly telling her, “I can’t always explain it over and over again.”
Hickling noted that the duke and duchess seemed to be having a comical exchange as they both are thought to know the rules of basketball and have even attended Los Angeles Lakers games in the past.
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Sometimes we see Harry looking quite ragged or stressed. Here, however, he appears far more cool, calmer, and happier than normal. He’s not always someone who verbally expresses his emotions clearly, so the real insight often comes from his non-verbal cues.
“In the photos, however, the smiles appear completely genuine. Both he and Meghan seem to be having a truly good time. You can see the crow’s feet at the corners of their eyes, which is a strong indicator of an authentic smile. Their entire faces are engaged — the eyes are bright, the cheeks are lifted, and the mouth is fully involved in the expression. With a fake smile, you typically don’t see those crow’s feet. Instead, you might notice a more controlled or partial smile – something that looks posed rather than naturally felt.”
The expert concluded, “They are also matching and mirroring each other throughout, and are very tactile — this is a clear sign of the strength of their bond. Overall, in these pictures, the emotions come across as completely authentic. They appear genuinely happy, sharing a moment of real joy together. Despite any surrounding negativity, the images suggest a strong and deeply connected bond between them. They seem to be stronger and happier than ever.”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
