Lisa Rinna and the other Housewives received a salary to appear on RHOBH. According to Rinna, though, this did little to make up for the expense of appearing on the show. Rinna said she wanted to look a certain way on television, which led to huge shopping bills. She claimed that her wardrobe nearly left her broke.

Lisa Rinna said she spent a great deal of money to appear on ‘RHOBH’

The women on the Housewives franchises dress in elaborate and expensive clothing. Rinna said they spend a lot of money on their wardrobes for the show.

“I don’t think fans of the Housewives franchises understand that we get ZERO clothing allowance, but we are expected to dress to the nines and never repeat outfits,” she wrote in her new book, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It. “The producers just expect it. This unwritten rule can bankrupt a b**** if she’s not careful.”

She added that almost her entire salary went towards clothing.

“No one on Housewives is making any money. I can tell you that,” she wrote. “Because you’re spending it all. I spent most of my salary on clothes.”

While she returned the dress she wore for her first reunion, she felt too guilty to do this again. As a result, she admitted that she almost went “broke” trying to buy “bazillion-dollar dresses” for each reunion.

“After spending my life savings to look good on air, it’s probably a blessing in disguise that I left before bankruptcy,” she wrote.

Lisa Rinna insulted a ‘RHOBH’ co-star for her appearance on the show

Overall, Rinna thinks her money was well spent. She doesn’t dislike any of the outfits she wore during her time on RHOBH. She didn’t feel the same way about her co-star, Sutton Stracke, though. She slammed Stracke as “living proof that money can’t buy you taste.”

Rinna went on to insult Stracke’s overall appearance.

“I’m happy to drag Sutton,” she wrote. “She’s frumpy, there’s no sex appeal about her whatsoever, and she’s got a weird body. So god bless her.”

She has no plans to return to the show

Rinna spent eight years on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In her time, she became a divisive character. She said she has no regrets about her behavior, though.

“Everyone always asks me if I have regrets about my behavior, especially during my last season,” she wrote. “I do not regret lashing out at Sutton [Stracke], or regret handling the Kathy [Hilton] of it all. I do not regret a minute of it. I was doing the best I could on a reality show a couple days after my mom died, and now that I look back on it, I say shame on them for the way they handled me.”

While she finds some clips of her time on the show funny, and still maintains friendships with some of the Housewives, she does not want to return.

“I did it and I lived it,” she wrote. “I’m the type of person who’s moving on. My life motto is always, ‘What’s next?’”
