Lisa Vanderpump Shared Her Side of a Recent Run-In With Former Friend Kyle Richards
Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards used to be close friends, but after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ infamous “Puppygate” fight, their relationship soured. Vanderpump and Richards are still not on good terms. Recently, Richards spoke about seeing her former friend at a Beverly Hills restaurant. Vanderpump shared her side of the encounter.
Kyle Richards said she recently ran into Lisa Vanderpump
In an appearance at BravoCon, Richards spoke about a run-in she had with Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd. They were all at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“The other night, I was in the Beverly Hills Hotel — I didn’t tell you this — and I saw Ken and Lisa,” she said, per Us Weekly. “I sat there and I thought, ‘Well, what should I do?’ Because it doesn’t always go well when we see each other in person.”
As Richards left, she referenced Todd’s parting “Goodbye, Kyle!” after the “Puppygate” fight.
“Maybe she did see me, maybe she didn’t,” Richards said. “But as he was leaving, I said, ‘Goodbye, Ken.’ I didn’t know if he heard me or not, but I just had to do that.”

While Richards wasn’t sure if her former friend saw her, Vanderpump later confirmed she did.
“Actually, it’s true. I didn’t know she saw us,” she told Us Weekly, adding, “We were in the Polo Lounge the other day, and it was crowded.”
She noted that while she saw Richards, she “didn’t want to get into it” because she was with a group of people. She also said she didn’t hear Richards say, “Goodbye, Ken” to her husband.
“No, and I don’t think anybody else did either, so whatever,” she said.
Vanderpump said she feels indifferent toward her former friend
Vanderpump left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after her falling out with Richards. While the two friends had a major falling out, the former said she no longer holds onto any resentment toward her former friend. She said that instead, she feels indifferent.
“I think when you talk about the opposite of love and they say that it’s hate, and it’s not. It’s kind of indifference,” she said, per Bravo. “I’m just like, ‘Hey, hi, how are you?’ … It needs to start with an apology to ever reconcile because you can’t ever pick up a friendship when somebody’s calling you a liar. That doesn’t work for me, at all.”
As recently as 2024, Richards said she had a friendly enough encounter with the couple.
“I did see her recently, actually,” she said, per Bravo. “And I said, ‘Hi,’ and she was with Ken. This was not that long ago, maybe a month or so, and she was actually friendly.”
Still, Richards said Todd was warmer towards her than her former friend.
“Ken’s always — he gives a kiss or whatever. She’s a little colder, but it was [an] interesting encounter,” she said. “Anyway, it was not bad. [It] did not go badly. I will say that.”
