The back-and-forth feud between Marlon Wayans and 50 Cent has come to an end.

The beef between the comedian and rapper ended almost as quickly as it began according to Wayans, who got into a war of words with 50 Cent after he made comments about Netflix’s Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which the In Da Club artist produced.

So what happened that led Wayans to squash their beef now, and how did 50 respond? Here’s more on that.

During their social media feud, fans exposed Wayans’ old Diddy tweets

It all started when Wayans was a guest on The Cruz Show podcast earlier this month and was asked for his take on Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

Wayans criticized the docuseries, saying that a filmmaker or storyteller can “create any narrative.” He also accused 50 Cent of “kicking a man when he’s down,” arguing that Diddy is currently facing consequences for what he’s done.

50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, went after him and so did some fans who believed Wayans was sticking up for and defending Diddy. Several people then found old tweets from Wayans praising Diddy.

One that was reposted read, “Been doin’ Diddy parties for 15 years and I must say you never let me down Puff. Aint no party like a Diddy party. Good times people!”

Commenters piled on Wayans, saying they were going to boycott anything he’s involved in including his new film Scary Movie 6, which the actor has been actively promoting.

Every celebrity knows that when something affects fans’ feelings and the threat of them not supporting or spending money on a product is a possibility, it’s time to try and make things right. Luckily, Wayans has people around him to remind him of that.

Wayans shared what his brothers said to him in a group chat about beefing with 50

During a recent interview on KTLA, Wayans shared the advice his famous siblings gave him that led to him ending the beef with 50.

He recalled, “My brothers, they were funny. Dame was like, ‘Why you pick the biggest brother? He’s on gamma rays. Stick to beefing with Soulja Boy, Kevin Hart—people that we can beat. You fight him. Leave guys that got shot nine times alone!”

Wayans recapped what happened that started the feud in the first place, explaining, “They asked me about the documentary. I was like, ‘I didn’t see it.’ And then they asked me about it, and I just gave my opinion. I was just like, ‘I don’t think brothers need to be quarreling in public like that’ and then what did I get into? A public quarrel with a brother and I just think it was bad for the culture and so I kind of backed out. I think, because I always wanna focus on, you know, positivity, fun, and I got a movie coming out, Scary Movie 6.”

He then joked, “So I don’t even say that name anymore. If you ask me, ‘Hey, you got change for a dollar? I need a half a dollar! So you need a half a dollar. You’re talking about five dimes, two quarters. I’ll say two quarters. How old are you? I’m forty-three plus a dime! I will no longer say it. It rhymes with gifty.”

50 Cent has since responded to Wayans’ KTLA appearance with a repost of his comments and the caption, “I’m glad he didn’t make me have to act like I don’t want to see Scary Movie 6. We good.”
