Martin Short Could Have a Job at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Wedding That Brings Him Close to Taylor Swift

Rumors are swirling that Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s wedding date is fast approaching. The pair, however, refuses to admit that they’ve set the date and are barrelling towards forever. Despite their reluctance to admit they are about to say “I do,” they are sharing insights into their engagement milestone. Blanco and Gomez both enjoyed recent trips that served as their bachelor and bachelorette parties. Gomez dropped a host of pictures from her Cabo getaway. That photo drop seems to confirm the wedding day is likely just around the corner. She’s also spoken openly about what will be expected of her Only Murders in the Building co-stars on her big day. Martin Short might have a very important job at Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s wedding. The job would put him very close to Taylor Swift.

For a couple who have been pretty coy about wedding planning, it seems like Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have a lot of things figured out. Gomez recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and joked about the job Martin Short will have at her wedding. Gomez quipped that Short, whom she refers to as Marty, will obviously serve as the ring bearer.

Such a job would put him in exceptionally close proximity to Taylor Swift. The pop star called dibs on the flower girl gig as soon as Blanco and Gomez announced their engagement. At this point, we are desperate to see photos of Swift as a flower girl and Short as the ring bearer. The flower girl and ring bearer typically hang out together before heading down the aisle.

Gomez’s other co-star, Steve Martin, isn’t going to be left out in the cold, though. While the jobs of ring bearer and flower girl are already taken, Gomez imagines he will be involved in the ceremony musically. During an earlier appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show, Gomez said she thought Steve Martin would certainly pull out his banjo to entertain the crowd.

When is the wedding day?

Despite sharing plenty of information about what might be happening at the big event and who will be included in their special day, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are keeping their wedding date under wraps. Despite that, a few rumors are circulating. Last week, TMZ reportedly spoke to an insider who spilled the beans. The insider claimed that Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are tying the knot at the end of September and are just putting the finishing touches on things. They said the event is going to take place in the Montecito/Santa Barbara area of California. Still, the insider did not share the exact venue location. Montecito has been mentioned before, but no venue has been leaked. It appears the venue is a secret even to guests.

Speaking of guests, it looks like Paris Hilton is locked in as a guest for the big event. Access Hollywood caught up with her at the 2025 VMAs and asked about the wedding. She was forced to confirm that she’s on the guest list when her sister put her on the spot. Several other major stars, including SZA, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift, are expected to attend. We can safely assume Justin Bieber won’t be on the guest list.
